Attention Local Artists

 The Grove Hill Arts Council is seeking paintings of "Doors" to be exhibited in the Cultural Arts Center.  This exhibit will be in conjunction with the winning photographs in the adult division of the Grove Hill Arts Council’s fifth annual contest, “Photography in Your Own Back Yard.”

This year, “Doors of Clarke County” is the special category for the photography contest. See accompanying article for details of the photo contest.

Paintings specifications:

·  A committee will choose paintings for the exhibit from submitted photos of original work.

·  Paintings must be suitability framed or on gallery wrap canvas ready to hang with a minimum overall size of 11x14.

·  All entries must be labeled with artist’s name, address, phone number, title of painting, dimensions, medium, and price or NSF (Not For Sale).*

·  A typed, 1-2 paragraph bio or artist statement must accompany each entry.*

·  A maximum of 3 entries maybe submitted per person.

·  Delivered paintings must be as they appear in the entry photograph.

·  A commission on possible sales will go to The Grove Hill Cultural Arts Center.

·  The Grove Hill Arts Council has the right to reject any painting.

Schedule:

• April 15 --- Deadline for entry photographs of paintings to be submitted to the Grove Hill Arts Council Exhibit Committee

• April 30 --- Opening Exhibit between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

• April 30 – July 30 --- Exhibit open during regular Cultural Arts Center hours

• July 30 --- Pick up paintings between 10:00 and 4:00 at the Cultural Arts Center

 *Assistance can be provided in filling out forms and taking photographs of the paintings.
